Pumpkin's Palette: KanColle - KanMusu

I needed to release my feels from this week’s KanColle episode.

Please let my ships continue sailing. Don't let any of them sink.

I guess there were extra feels this week because I recently started playing the game and loved it.

[Pumpkin's Palette] Gugure stuff

After 2 months or so, this Gugure project is finally done.
I can go and stick these up on my wall.
Made them because I loved Gugure, and couldn't afford the official merch, so the next best option is to use handmade art.

Pumpkin's Palette: Slaine sketch

I was feeling kinda edgy/anxious/unsettled tonight, so I thought I'd doodle a Slaine (from Aldnoah Zero) sketch to help ease my nerves.

Pumpkin's Palette: Beneath Cloudy Skies

Hello everyone!
It's been a while. I hope everyone is doing well.
Here is my latest work: A Donten ni Warau fanart.
"Beneath these cloudy skies, we will laugh, cry and grow stronger."
Tools used: MyPaint + Gimp.
Black and white version available on my pixiv: http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=48011522
Ps. You really should watch Donten ni Warau. It's a shounen fantasy action. There's an adorable love story in it as well.

Pumpkin's Palette: Akatsuki from Log Horizon

Heyo!
It has been a very very long time! I hope everyone has been well.
Have you been enjoying the Autumn season of anime? So sad that we're up to week 10/11 already, only 2-3 weeks to go!

My latest drawing is Akatsuki from Log Horizon, an extremely cute girl. I initially didn't like her character, but her personality grew on me after watching season 2.

This drawing took too long to complete, because my motivation fluctuated up and down.
I edited this using GIMP.

Pumpkin's Palette: Rin Matsuoka (Free!) + Aldnoah Zero

Hi readers,
It has been some time since I last dropped by.
Many things happened in life. Went through an emotional roller-coaster, and still riding it.
There are still many problems I need to sort out. Ha, what is life without problems?
Anyway, let's push away the ramblings.
I tried to cheer myself up with some drawing. Here's some sketches of characters from Aldnoah Zero and Rin from Free!. Enjoy~

Jibanyan (Yokai Watch) Model Kit

This was a quick and easy build. Done within 1 hour.
This little critter is absolutely adorable.
I find it hilarious how Yokai Watch is targeted to young children (on par with Pokemon and Digimon audience) and the anime mascot is some pervy cat creature - as demonstrated by Jibanyan loving to read some cat gravure magazine.
My only dilemma was choosing the stickers for his face for different expressions - There were so many stickers to choose from!!
It was really nice of Bandai to create a little stand to hold the extra pieces (left piece) - 2 faces and 1 extra set of arms.
This was definitely worth my money, in terms of product quality, the amount of build-able pieces and cuteness. If I ever come across the second model kit then I would buy it without hesitation!
The only downside of this model is that the collar is missing the blue colour.

[Life] De-stressing

Post-assessment block + Pre-prac de-stress, aka binge shopping.
I loved the first VVV kit I made last time so I went and bought another one, Hiasobi. Picked this one namely because it was purple
And then I saw the Yokai Watch cat, and it was too adorable to not buy, so it joined my shopping basket.
Not pictured is an awesome red scarf I got for $2 (originally $15 - talk about bargains!!)

Pumpkin's Palette - Momotarou (Free!ES)

I needed to get my F(r)eels off my chest.
Mikoshiba Momotarou from Free!Eternal Summer - voiced by my beloved SuzuKen.
It's been over 5 months since I drew? I miss the art side of me. If only I had more time!

Free! Eternal Summer - Episode 1 [v.P]

Let me let you in on a secret: There'll be even more hot bods, muscles and water in Free! Eternal Summer.
The highlight of my week, the return on my bishies.
You can't say no to Nagisa's cuteness.
And to create some angst and competition, there's a new guy in town, and he's hot!
You won't be able to hold your pedo-ness back.
Click below for more hot bods.

Shonen Hollywood + SAO II - Episode 1 [v.P]

It seems like everyone wants to jump onto the "bishounen, idol, sing and dance" bandwagon, hoping to scam money off desperate ladies given the success of UtaPri.
Shounen Hollywood is another series targeted at the ladies where they promote a group of 5 "hot" teen soon-to-be-idols.
Take my word: Do NOT watch this anime.
It sucks.
For an anime that focuses on music, the OP and ED songs are pathetic.
The art is not "pretty" at all.
While the seiyuus are decent, the plot is too cliche and predictable.
Essentially you will waste 6 hours of your life watching 5 pathetic males learn how to sing and dance and face an audience.
There were no character development what so ever in this first episode. Everyone feels so empty.
Now moving on to SAO II.
Did I have high hopes for this series? Nope, given that they screwed up ALO.
I was happy that the first voice I heard was HiroC's (the guy pictured below), I was sad to see him die within the first 6 minutes of the anime.
The CGI of the bullet shooting was cool, but that only lasted a minute or so.
It felt refreshing to see my OTP, Kirito and Asuna again.
The art is typical quality.
The OP/ED song was good. I still preferred the first set of songs.
I will keep watching for the sake of my loyalty to the series.

Bakumatsu Rock - Episode 1 [v.P]

The more I tell myself not to procrastinate, the more I actually do procrastinate.
Given that I have 5 assignments due within 3 weeks, I so ingeniously decided to watch anime instead.
Let's start off with the YowaPed wrap up.
I'm disappointed that they cut season 1 off without finishing the 2nd day of the interhigh race. I really want to know who wins! But now I've got to wait till October to find out.
There were many precious team moments in the last episode, especially the comradery between Imaizumi and Onoda.

To start off the new anime season I decided to watch Bakumatsu Rock.
Now I played the game, never really finished it, but I did enjoy it, especially the music/songs and seiyuus.
I was anticipating a poorly made adaptation of an otome game, as most otome anime adaptations go.
However, I was not disappointed.
The character introductions were fairly cliched but the funny moment made up for it.
The art is decent.
"So far so good".
We'll wait and see how hopeless it becomes as it develops throughout the season.

Anime Review - One Week Friends

Synopsis: Kaori Fujimiya is always alone because all of her happy memories, including time spent with her friends, disappear every Monday. Deciding that he wants to be friends with her anyway, Yuuki Hase tries to get close to Kaori each week, wishing that she would one day call him "a friend."
Source : MAL

First of all, I found this anime ridiculously cute, so I may be extremely biased. Please bare with me as I am trying to being objective here.

Cute Story : 7
This story does not use complex ideas, concept nor plot twists. This is the rawest story possible: the following of the friendship between friends. The main message of the show is to appreciate the wonderful bond of friendship, and it succeeds, leaving the viewer smiley and giggly with joy. The relaxed and slowed pace is perfect and seems to highlight the difficult challenge of building a friendship. As well, the reason for the memory loss is explained in a practical manner and ties in well with the story. It is not just an extra thrown in for drama, but is further touched upon in the later episodes.

Cute Art : 7
There is nothing to boast about. The art is simplistic with its soft and mellow colours. It compliments the lightheartedness and cuteness of the story. Also, the first anime that I have seen in a while with no fanservice! Yeah! *SPOILER* They even go to a beach yet the girls wear their regular outfits!

Those soft light colours . . . so pretty.
Sweet Soundtrack : 8
Finally, an adjective that is not cute. The cheerful opening and strong ending song, sung by the seiyuu for Fujimiya, ties together the adorableness of this series. The seiyuus were well selected, except for Shogo. I questioned his voice but overtime, it grew on me.

Cute Characters : 9
I need another synonym here guys. The characters are the strongest aspect of the show. The interactions, the dialogue and the emotions were genuine, although the dialogue was slightly repetitive. The characters were immediately likable, even if they were stereotypical cookie-cut characters. My only main negative would be the lack of a Kujo's character. I imagined that he would have a more catastrophic role, but he fell flat.

So cute yet so funny :D
Fell in Love : 10
I really really really loved this anime. The adorableness, the fuzzy atmosphere and the cute characters drew me in. This anime would pull on my heartstrings; I would either smile like crazy or tear up silently in a corner. If I had not binge-watched this series, each episode would have definitely made my week a lot more happier.

Overall : Very Good : 8
One Week Friends will likely not be placed on top for this season yet there is something about this show that makes it wonderful to watch. The pure innocence, cherished friendship, and charming nature of this anime will draw in all ages and leave waves of happiness within them. I recommend this anime 100%!
Other suggestions include Kimi to Boku, Golden Time and Usagi Drop.

I ship these two so much~!
Until next time,

JunJun is full of puns

I'm watching the Makai Ouji event from 2013 and in this corner/section, the various seiyuus have to come up with lines for the characters to say.
JunJun (Fukuyama Jun) decides to pull this pun out for William.
The literal translation of the pun is "My mother is my mother", the Jap version is hilarious because it says "My mother is selfish". It's a play on words of "Wa ga" (meaning mine) and "Ma ma" (meaning mum) while "Wagamama" term means selfish.

Mow it down bro (Kuroko no Basuke)

Came across this hilarious picture the other day.
Just like a sir Kise.
I can't take Ahomine seriously any more.
