Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Trailer Previews Limit Breaks

Square Enix began streaming a new "Limit Break Trailer" for its massive multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on Saturday. A Realm Reborn's upcoming overhaul will introduce a new version of the franchise's signature Limit Break system, and "heroes of Eorzea unite to defeat a dragon" in this trailer made from in-game footage.

Square Enix announced on Thursday that alpha testing will begin this winter, and Square Enix is already recruiting testers on Windows PCs.

The current incarnation of Final Fantasy XIV will go offline on November 11 with plans to migrate players over to the new game. Producer Naoki Yoshida had revealed at Germany's GamesCom event on August 15 that the game will undergo server-load tests this fall and enter a beta test period this winter.
